What’s The Difference Between Creoles And Cajuns?

I was bored the other day and I got wondering about this. What the heck is the difference between Creoles and Cajuns? And please note I’m talking about the cultures, NOT the food.

    Okay, here we go. Cajuns are generally a combination of French, Spanish, and/or Caucasian. Creoles are all of the above, with the addition of Black and/or Indian.
    But south of Interstate 10 in Louisiana, you could safely call EVERYONE a Cajun. In those cases, it’s simply a matter of cultural identity.

    Technically, Cajuns are transplants from Canada who were originally the French – Acadians. A creole is a language mix that can be anywhere 2 cultures mix. Creoles exist all over the world. In Louisiana, the creole (cooking, culture, lg) is a mix of all the many groups that ended up there – Spanish, French, Native American, West African, English…
