Tasteless Shrimp Boil!?

I made it w/ Zatarains boil-in-a-bag. Followed directions. I added limes and lemons into the pot as well. Tasted better with a mixture of lime juice, salt, pepper, and cajun seasoning. But still not anything like I hoped. When I eat it at restraunts like the Boiling Crab they have this sauce that covers the shrimp. Does anyone know what it is? I love the louisianna style food, but cant seem to make it on my own. Any help would be much appreciated!

Shrimp boil is a different type of dish. It’s just flavored boiled shrimp. What you want is made with a sauce of butter or oil, cajun/creole seasoning, lemon, garlic, worcesteshire or soy sauce.

There are lots of recipes out there. Some bake the shrimp in the sauce at high heat. Others do it in a sautee pan. Below is a link to a recipe I’ve been making for years. Everyone loves it and I always get requests for the recipe.
