I love to cook, and recently bought a spice rack that is full of seasonings I’ve never used before. What are some vegetarian recipes using any of the following spices:
seasoning salt
thyme
marjoram
coriander
rosemary
savory (what is this?)
oregano
fennel
cajun seasoning
sesame seed
basil
chives
parsley
sage

I have used some of these before but I would still love recipes for them.
I’m so excited to use the fennel seeds, I’ve seen recipes on food network that uses fennel.
Thanks for your help!
Human bodies can not live off of a carnivore diet. Humans are made to be omnivores. I’m only vegetarian because I took too many anatomy and biology courses in school. *shivers*

My Brother is starting a food delivery business, he emailed me his menu and idea and I am not sure if people would be interested in it. He is starting a Fresh (not Frozen) Southern food delivery service, He plans on taking fresh local ingredients and making meals for families with little time to prepare meals from scratch. All of his food will be made to order, fresh food, no preservatives or additives. His menu has Soup of the week ( new soup each week) new england clam chowder, chicken soup etc. Entrees are Fried chicken, Meatloaf, west indian curry beef, smothered porkchops, and chop-steak w caramelized onions. Sides are squash succotash, creamed spinach, mac and cheese, collard greens, sweet potatoes, Cajun corn, glazed carrots, potato salad. He will deliver the fresh food chilled daily and the customer only has to re-heat, but he only takes orders that are a minimum of $40.00. Would you buy this food? Do you know anybody that will? Please tell me your honest opinion because I want to tell him the truth of if it will work or not. Thanks a bunch.,
Thank you everyone for the great advice. It will be around $40.00 for 3 meals, that will come with entree, 1side, and bread. He has not opened up yet, but plans to open hopefully by 2011. Again thank you so much for the great advice.

Now first off, I don’t wanna hear any LIP from all you Naysayers who might immediately think and say, “Peanut Butter…and BACON!!? EEEEEWWWWW!!!” If you’ve never tried these two together, you have no idea what you are missing. This is a great Southern tradition and even the master chef, Paul Pruhdomme, in his famous K-Paul’s Kitchen in New Orleans incorporates a peanut butter and bacon hor’dourve in his menu for private parties, so no, I’m not making this up or am I playing with food, thank you. Cajun cooks can appreciate what I’m talking about.

Now I have a family member who is an absolute junkie for bacon, even though it’s not the best for you, health wise. She alway prepaes bacon in the morning and there is usually some left over, so my typical habit is to incorporate it into a peanut butter and bacon sandwich, although I also add mayonaisse and onions which really brings out the flavors. Don’t knock it til you try it, Bubba! It is DEE-LISH!

But other recipe ideas?
Of course, I (and anyone else with internet) can just Google “peanut butter and bacon” and come up with recipes. But I prefer recipes that the person has actually tried and knows is a proven winner or a crowd pleaser.

I like Thai food with peanut butter, coconut milk and curry. I also like Italian Fettuccinni Carbonara with bacon in a cream sauce. But I’ve not found too many quick and easy recipes for peanut butter and bacon together besides a sandwich or something on a cracker.

I do a lot of cooking so ease of preparation is not my sole criteria. I prepare many elaborate meals too. I’m just looking for new ideas that bring out these two flavors that I might share with others and not be accused of making up some crazy dish that’s never been tested. So if the recipe has a name and a history, that adds to the credibility if I serve it to others. Get it?
