How long do shrimp last?

Recently, I bought two pounds of fresh shrimp from Whole Foods Market to make shrimp creole. They are very large and were recently frozen. I bought them home in the original packaging and put them in the back of my fridge. Well, I got busy and haven’t made the dish. The shrimp are STILL on the shelf in the fridge and it has been exactly three days. Am I safe? I plan to cook the dish in about 10 hours (after I get some sleep) and I need to know if I am going to be alright. Is it to late? Maybe Whole Foods Market will give me another two pounds, if I return them with an explanation. You never know unless you ask, huh?
