How do I make crispy crunchy fried green beans? ?

my girlfriend and I bought a little container of these at the farmers market for $4.00 or so and fell in love with them. I see there’s a few recipes online for them, but most of the recipes seem to be replicating battered and fried green beans from TGIFs that are heavily spiced with pepper and cajun seasoning. What we had was pretty far away from that. What we ate was as crunchy as a pretzel stick, was not battered, looked as though it had been fried but was not browned, and was lightly dusted with salt. The fries were also sweet, though I don’t know if that’s because they had been sprinkled with sugar, or if the sweetness came from the oil or the beans themselves. My girlfriend supposed that they were fried in canola oil.

Does anyone know how we can make these ourselves? Whole Foods serves an arm and a leg for their bags of misc. fried vegetables and we only get to go out to the farmer’s market one every now and then. I would love to introduce these to my sister too.

I’ve tried tossing them around in olive oil and then baking them in the oven and frying them in a pan, Neither has done the trick.
Now, the string bean fries I ate weren’t battered either. They looked very normal, but when bitten into were crunchy. If I follow your recipe without the batter will they still be crunchy?
Actually, upon looking at your recuipe again, Sugar Pie, the batter doesn’t really seem like a real batter. Or at least not the kind I’m used to (i,e pancake batter, cake batter, funnell cake batter, etc). Is “Tempura Batter” more like a stiffening agent?

My boyfriend and I were arguing about food. He wanted jambalaya . . . I wanted nachos or corn dogs. So I said, “Cajuns like corn dogs” to try and meet in the middle. He claims no Cajuns like Corn Dogs. I think he is wrong.

I have a pack of chicken breast and dont know what to do with it.?

I am a picky eater, i dont like veggies all that much, i like things like corn and potatoes….the only green one i eat is spinach and thats if its in a dip or eggroll (from chilis…haha). I like italian food tho, pasta is a fave of mine and also potatoes. I dont like rice too much unless its in a cajun dish like gumbo or something( im from Louisiana). My fiance isnt picky at all and loves to try anything. I have a 3 year old daughter who is iffy about things but she is willing to try things. If her grandpaw can get her to eat an oyster raw then she will try anything…HAHA!!!(Yuck for me tho)…anyways, all the help is appreciated and i cant wait to hear what ideas everybody has. Thanks everyone!

Reason why I asked this is because I only ate 2 small bag of doritos ranch, and a one big banana. I woke up today at 11:30am.. Use the computer, and at 1:30pm. Went up and checked the refrigerator..There was nothing in the there, so I sat down on the couch and watch television. Got up again and check the refrigerator around 2:00pm.. There was no food, no eggs, nothing to cook. So I sat down on the couch again, and got up at 2:30 to check the fridge once more.. There was nothing. So I took a large banana, and found 2 small bag of doritos ranch chips.. That was all I ate. Is it bad? I’m planning to get me wingstop tonight.. I want 10 Hawaiian BBQ piece, and 10 cajun piece, and a small fries, and ranch on the side. How am I doing?
I checked the refrigerator just in case I find something to eat.. Like a left over hot dog or frozen pizza, or burritos. I know is buried deep in the refrigerator somewhere, but I’m too lazy to check it.
